Life for recently-divorced marine biologist Dr. Atticus Halloran feels like it can't possibly get any worse until he nearly drowns. The ethereal mercreature that they just so happen to fish up alongside him provides a welcome distraction, especially when Atticus discovers that it possesses the unique ability to give and take memories awayMermetica is the first comic I ever published to the internet. It features homosexual angst secondary to the vaguely existential exploration of who we are without our memories and accidentally becoming a fish person (mentally, that is). I made this for a contest, so I had extremely strict page limitations for the story that I wanted to tell, but I hope you can enjoy it nevertheless. Read it here!

PAYMENT
> I maintain the right to cancel and refund any commission asked of me at any time.
> Full refunds may be issued if I have not made any progress on your commission for over six months without reason
> Refunds, cancellations, or chargebacks are not allowed otherwise
REVISIONS
> Unlimited amount of changes and edits permitted during the sketch stage. After the sketch stage, up to TWO minor changes will be allowed to be made to the piece. To me, a minor change is one that does not radically alter the composition of the piece (up to my judgement)
> It is the client's responsibility to ensure that I include every detail to their liking
> Larger changes during the coloring stage will come with an extra fee.
> When the piece is mostly complete, major changes are not permitted at all
DELIVERY
> An illustration can take 2-4 months to finish
> I will alert clients if my progress will be delayed for any reason. I may be pinged (at a reasonable frequency) if I neglect to do so

In Chinese culture, bats are an auspicious symbol, quite unlike the more ominous associations they tend to have in the West --- The character for fortune, fú 福, is homophonic with the fú in the word for bat, biānfú 蝙蝠. Upon the arrival of the Lunar New Year, a fú 福 ideograph is often displayed upside-down, based on the wordplay that dào 倒 "upside-down" sounds identical to dào 到 "to arrive" --- how fun that bats are known to hang upside down as well! With this in mind, my only hope as your humble little bat-shaped scholar is that you might find joy and fortune in the art that I create. The fact that he's a scientist is cuz I gotta rep that STEM degree at least somewhere lol
